One of the steps we've been applying when designing application is UI paper prototyping. Paper-based protoyping might be primitive but yet easy and effective way of laying out the the different pieces of an application's UI. And many of the requirements are gathered and put into the design during this process.

So we made a simple paper prototype earlier today, it is for an equally simple application. A document storing and retrieving system. After feeling that the prototype was pretty much complete, we converted it into html design.
